Every year, I go through the same internal battle.

What boots will I get this year?  Will they be flat?  Will they be black or brown?  How tall should they be?  Are my calves still sinewy enough to look astonishingly hot while wearing them (the answer, btw - is yes)? 

Well - this year - I have found Dream Boot.  Courtesy of one of my favorite boot makers, Frye.  Knee high, buffed leather, with discreet (yet still "do what I want") buckles along the calf.
